This mill started operations May 1938, with ball mill, not stampers.
The foundations of the battery are at western end of the suspension bridge which crosses the Waitawheta Stream at Battery Flat. No map or plan has been found, but the two known images of the plant help to make sense of the foundations.
Particularly prominent are the concrete supports of the air agitation tanks. The Inspector’s report says eight tanks, but a photograph shows only six.
Easily identified are the foundations of the ball mill, which have characteristic tube mill mounts.
